Hello, I'm Samuel George Pitchford

I’m a visionary and earnest photographer based in Stoke-on-Trent, currently studying full-time at Staffordshire University. When I was young, my godfather, Peter, a wedding and astrophotographer, gifted me several photography books and a film camera, which sparked my passion for the medium. His influence encouraged me to experiment, learn, and develop my own creative direction. I focus on spreading messages and creating stories through my photography, paying close attention to the finer details that others often overlook. This approach gives my work a distinctive perspective and visual edge, allowing me to connect with both everyday viewers and professional clients through meaningful, well-considered imagery.

I primarily focus on decay, neglect, and abandonment through street, landscape, and still-life photography. My work documents the streets filled with litter, the crumbling buildings, and the companies that contribute to the impact through their products. Alongside the harshness of decline, I also capture the unexpected beauty that can be found within neglected and abandoned places. I’m driven by a desire to show how time, neglect, and human influence shape the environments around us, and I approach each subject with the same balance of honesty and curiosity that defines my practice.

Companies and Charity Work

  • Douglas MacMillan Charity – Product Photographer

In 2022, I photographed valuable items for online listings and promotional use, editing and optimising product imagery for e-commerce platforms. My work contributed to improving the visual quality and consistency of the charity’s online sales materials, helping to present products more effectively and attractively to potential buyers.

  • Goldenhar UK – Photographer, Graphic & Web Design Volunteer

From 2018 to the present, I have been photographing charity events, merchandise, and promotional materials for use online and in print. I design graphics for fundraising campaigns, website banners, and social media posts, as well as create and maintain the charity’s website layout, updates, and visual presentation. My work supports creative ideas that strengthen the charity’s public image and enhance its outreach efforts.

  • MADO Café – Photographer & Graphic Print Designer

Since August 2025, I have been photographing menu items, products, and promotional content for use on social media and in print. My role also involves designing printed materials such as menus, signage, and marketing posters, as well as editing and colour-correcting photographs to maintain brand consistency. Through creative photography and design, I support the café’s overall visual identity and help strengthen its presentation across both digital and physical platforms.

I offer a range of creative services combining photography, graphic design, and web design. My work includes professional still-life, product, portrait, and promotional photography, along with photo editing and colour correction to ensure a consistent, high-quality visual style. I design engaging printed and digital materials such as menus, posters, signage, and social media graphics, and create visually cohesive websites that reflect each client’s brand identity. Whether producing imagery, design assets, or complete online presentations, I focus on delivering polished, effective visuals that capture attention and communicate clearly.
