Editorial & Documentary Photography
Editorial & Documentary Photography
Editorial and documentary photography commissions focus on observation, context, and storytelling. I produce considered photographic work that documents people, places, and situations as they exist, with an emphasis on narrative, atmosphere, and intent.
This work can include editorial features, environmental portraits, photo essays, and location-based storytelling. Projects may be produced for magazines, charities, councils, universities, cultural organisations, or independent publications. Each commission is approached with care and sensitivity to subject matter, ensuring the work remains accurate, respectful, and visually coherent.
Editorial and documentary commissions are secured with a £90 booking fee. The remaining balance is payable after the shoot has taken place, once the scope of the commission and final image requirements have been confirmed. Final costs may vary depending on shoot duration, location, access requirements, subject matter, and post-production. The booking fee is non-refundable.
Anything not listed, including extended projects, sensitive environments, or complex access arrangements, should be discussed in advance.

Support for Small Charities
Small charities are welcome to contact me to discuss discounted rates for editorial and documentary commissions. Where charitable status can be verified, I am happy to offer a significant reduction in fees, with pricing adjusted to cover travel costs plus an additional 30%. This ensures projects remain accessible while still accounting for time and expenses.
Usage and Publication
Usage is typically agreed as part of the commission and may include editorial, educational, or non-commercial use. Commercial reuse, extended licensing, or repurposing of images outside the original agreement may incur additional fees.
Additional Considerations
Travel outside the local area may incur additional costs
Access restrictions, permits, or special permissions may affect pricing
Longer-term or repeat commissions can be discussed on request
